One of my favorite modules to run was a puzzle module I ran a couple years ago at Dragon's Hearth. It was based off a brain teaser I found about seven jack o'lanterns in which the players entered a circle of seven lit candles in a fae trap. To be able to leave and return home the players needed to blow all the candles out. When you blow out the first one, the lanterns on either side extinguish as well! But there is more. If you blow out a lantern adjacent to one that is extinguished, the extinguished one(s) will relight. To add to the challenge there was a fae creature hungry for the taste of pcs coming for them and a malicious fae waiting to see them fail. None of the players had the resources to kill this regenerating behemoth and so time was limited. Luckily the players had a puzzle junkie or two on the module and were able to successfully escape the the grasp of the fae. A lot of the feedback from this module was some of the most positive I have ever received.
What are mods that you have been on/help run that incorporated puzzles positive or negative? Please be descriptive on the different elements of the module. How challenging was the puzzle? What made it stand out to you as an interesting puzzle? What sorts of puzzles would you like to see more of?

It could be that I am slow as a rock, but I have never really enjoyed puzzles. Just about every one I have ever encountered would take a group at least an hour to solve. If there isn't some sort of danger to guard against I tend to sit off to the side and slowly fall out of game. There have even been a couple that I have fallen asleep while others solve. Lots of cool and unique puzzles, just wish they were a little easier... Or I was a little smarter...
