Heroic Nebraska is looking for NPC (non-player character) Volunteers. We are searching for volunteers who can commit to full event NPCing, preferably as regulars at either Rubicon or Pleasant Hills. NPCs are a great boon to games as they relieve strain from staff and increase the enjoyment of fellow players. If you can only commit to one game or you can commit to all of them please contact me here on this account.
Responsibilities: 1. Plays a variety of different characters and monsters to help flesh out the world
Rewards: 1. For every 2 event days spent NPCing, players receive 1 event day free to be used at the next Nebraska Chapter game the player PCs. 2. 100 HP per event day 3. 1 character event day, per event day spent NPCing, to be used on the character of that players choice (Includes Pleasant Hills Characters) 4. SHP for going above and beyond 5. Opportunities to become Marshalls and join Plot 6. Our undying love and gratitude!

Oh and I forgot benefit #7 Free Events when you are NPCing. Kind of a "duh" to older players but a neat perk. If you can't afford the event, don't worry, you can still come and play with us and work towards benefit #1.

Wow, those are some good bennies. I'm in! Larisa and I are talking about NPCing for Rubicon, particularly since we don't really have active characters in there that aren't really from another land. We'll contact your account when we're closer to events, Katherine.
I particularly like #6, but really I've NPCed in the past to make sure that the other folks there were able to have a good time. Nice to be rewarded for it.
I think this is a great way to get new people involved.

Story time! I actually started LARPing as an NPC. I was a poor college kid who was interested in trying it out but didn't have a lot of money so I NPCed play for free. Turned out to be a great way to learn the rules with no character consequences or drama. Players are happy to help new NPCs understand what is going on from the rules to the culture of the game. By the time I decided to PC for the first time (after about three or so events) I had enough experience to be around level 3-5. Which doesn't sound like a lot, but it allowed me to be a grandmaster (master) alchemist.

Yay, love story time!
I agree with you. It's a great chance to try stuff out. Do you like archery? 2 handed weapons? Role-play NPC's to try out different personalities? Do you like wearing a lot of makeup and masks or keep it natural?
Woot!

Pleasant Hills NPC's gain the joy of lighting up their friends with all the airsoft pellets you can fire! None of those silly limited resources that the PCs have to deal with. You also get to sleep in a cozy cabin while PCs are stuck weathering it out in their tents.
Oh... There's also a good chance there will be pizza. I hear lots of people enjoy pizza.
